  1. Mine is on the dash. NASCAR style. AHAHAHAHAHH
  2. Thanks for the dyno . Interesting. Yes Single Plane. So I think you are right. Alittle more tuning and that will be that. Shift light at 7000 rev limiter at 7200. You have prolly seen this vid but here is what it sounds like.
  3. .508/.508 298/294 at close 251 248 at 050" 106 lobe seperation Here is it and where I got it http://cgi.ebay.com/5-Solid-Cam-Kit-sb-Chevy-IMCA-Hobby-Stock-508-508-Lift_W0QQitemZ180103500490QQihZ008QQcategoryZ33614QQcmdZViewItem 10.25:1 I got this dizzy from a friend. I need to look over the spring and the advance mechanism. I am not using the vac advance. It is a MSD pro billet.
  4. Do you think Barney loosened the lug nut on purpose to cause you to crash on the victory lap?
  5. Thanks for the input. It seems very strong. Maybe that is all I am going to get out of this mill. the displacement of an LS1 is 350 cid and soome make 330 rwhp. Is this just a different animal with optimized fuel and timing? 280zwitha 383. What kind of timing do you run? I have mine locked out at 32 with 4 degrees mechanical on an msd pro billet backed by a crane cd brick.
  6. Ok weel my last dyno run after putting on a single plane intake and BG Mighty Demon 750 was less than stellar. I am still in the 285 rwhp range. Peak did move up in the rpm range by about 1000 rpm and had some losses at the lower end which was expected. I am sick of this guess work. I have to make all the mistakes and follow all the wrong paths hopefully this will lead to a real understanding of internal combustion. Question of the day. I initially bought the BG to solve what I though was a lean condition on the high end. Well I got plenty of fuel now with this double pumper mech 2ndary 750. Yes I know it is toooo much cfm as a 355 at 7000 rpm only pulls around 600 cfm. Should I: a. swap this with a holley or clone 600 670 with Vac 2ndaries as the vacuum contol will only deliver the fuel you need? b. Try to jet this carb down? there may be alot more than jetting involved to make this carb work well on this little cid. 355 300/.508 cam flat tops/ manual tranny/sportsman 2 heads/3.9 rear gear Thanks Joe
  7. That is AWESOME. A true testament to man and machine. To see those passes is most appreciated. I am only beginning to understand the countless hours and amount of effort each one of those successfull passes take. It is humbling. Thanks for Sharing. BTW: Would you put a passenger seat and harness in there and sell one pass rides at your next outing?
  8. That was sooooo cool. Thanks for posting.
  9. Man I love that car. Best color for a car. I need a daily driver like that one. The wheels will look great. Man you live in the hills. You sure you aint haulin shine with that ride? HAHAHAH. Whoops let me cover the redneckedness. Now lets see ya get on it!!!!
  10. Sound Awesome. I am very curious about your engine setup. Could you give us the details. 400 rwhp is awesome from 355 cid n/a.
  11. Polling for how many hybridz members are in each state.
  12. Today I had the experience of letting someone else drive my car with me in it. A good racer friend who I havent seen in a few months came to see me today and we went out for a drive. I cannot tell you how scared I was on so many different levels: 1. MEchanical failure as this is engineered by JOE 2. Loosing face in the vent of a mechanical failure 3. wrecking 4. Police while "Testing the Performance" My legs are still tired from pressing the imaginary pedals on the passenger side. Anyway we made several hard accelerations. Then this ls1 firebird started tailing us. I was unaware that it was "ON". We made a right turn from a light on to the highway and this firebird started to slingshot from behind us. SO my "DRIVER" guns first gear from a 15 - 20 mph roll and immediately lights up both 16x10 back tires. We roll up to 3rd gear around 6000rpm before letting off and we had walked away from the firebird. Whew I was relieved when we pulled into the garage. The driver was impressed and no failures. So today was a very satisfying day. Sorry for "Testing the Performance" on the highway. Will be going to the strip soon though.
  13. Well thanks to all for the back fire diagnosis. I got the drivers side header gasket sealed and then re torqued and magically the backfire problem went away.
  14. Do you think the new casing will be stronger? Will it be a stronger setup because of extra bracing from the frame to the casing? Or did it cannon just due to the fact that you had the super swampers on the back producing too much torqe? Next time you go muddin with your z please take video !!!!
  15. whoops I did put roller lifters. My bad. Sorry roller rockers.
  16. Which vortec heads are they L31? Did you have them modified to accept that amount of cam lift? Let us know how it goes and what you find.
  17. Let us know how the tear down goes and what you find. Keep us posted.
  18. http://stores.ebay.com/Racers-Outlet_Cams-Timing_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQftidZ2QQtZkm Not quite $70 but close.
  19. Man Dr. That is eerie. I have a hard time maintaining header gaskets. I get a little oil drip that the gets to the gasket and wets them then they seem to blow out. Replaced last night. But you are dead on with the diagnosis. Test run today will tell if I got it sealed up. Joe
  20. Racer parts wholesale off ebay. I think they are in the midwest. Paid about $70 with the lifters plus shipping and handleing. Circle track cam Not alot of lift but high duration
