  1. Go to VETTETEK's web page- http://www.fastassdatsun.com you will be amazed at the work he has in progress.
  2. A friend of mine got a good deal on a complete setup, but has decided to put it in his Nova 11 instead of his 240. He also has a complete GN setup so no telling what will happen for the 240.
  3. I have the D shaped Momo, night and day compared to stock.
  4. Bernardd We have currently broken all the codes associated with the 81-83 ECCS, both standards and automatics. I know most people think that it is impossible to do, but we have done it. I have been driving with it for a while now and have had no problems as of yet. The next logical step will be to get a few good pull on the dyno to verify on paper our butt-o-meter feelings. Once we have the proof on paper we will post a printout along with some pictures of the before and after maps. When everything goes as planned, Maximum Racing Group,Inc will be born. We also have the capability to reprogram most Porsch,Mercedez Benz, and BMW, and a few others.
  5. Is your o2 sensor hooked up. I had this problem after running on the freeway. I would shut it down and when I go back to start it (after comming out the store) I would have the same symptoms. I noticed my o2 had come unhooked, pluged it back in and no more problems.
  6. Eric, We have been doing this type of work for the last four years. We specialize in reprograming of OEM computers and have all the necessary equipment and programs to make it work. I am currently field testing a modified 83zxt ECCS in my car. We can read and program my ECCS on the fly with an adaptor and laptop computer. I am currently running 9lbs of boost on a stock T-3 turbo and the difference is very noticable. The off boost response is amazing. This was accomplished by changing to a more aggresive timing curve until boost comes on, making for a much smoother transition to boost. We are also capable of programing to control bigger injectors. My next step is to schedule some dyno time to see exactly how much more power we are making with the modified ECCS vs modified ECCS.
  7. Welding talk sounds great. I purchased a new mig wire feed last week to help redo my new '71 240. I can use all the pointers I can get, count me in. Do I need to bring any refreshments?
  8. If you guys don't mine a 83zxt showing up I'll be there. Currently my 71 240 is just a rolling shell waiting to be worked over.
  9. Has anyone use one in a Z and are you able to use a manual trans with it? Would it be advisable to use a manual trans or is it like the gn and not manual transmision friendly? Thanks.
  10. When doing your upgrades did you rewire your fuel pump to bypass the fuel pump modulator (box that sits above the ECCS)? I had the same problem as you discribed on my 83zxt when I turned up the boost to 9lbs. It felt almost like having vapor lock. I rewired my fuel pump to come on with the ignition and haven't had a problem since. I hope your problem is as simple as mine was.
  11. Thank you for the great info. It will make my conversion so much easier.
  12. Bastaad, I don't know if this may be your problem, but when I had similar symptoms as you are experiencing, it turned out to be a broken wire feeding the injector (#5 for me) same as what your #1 is doing. I would check the first one foot of wiring leading from the injector itself. With the heat thats generated from the exhaust manifold this portion of wiring tends to become brittle and easily broken with handling.
