  1. I think that this, like most things having to do with CARB and the EPA, is about money. I'm sure that many body shops (especially those whose primary business is insurance work) would openly embrace this type of enforcement. Anyone who needed any type of minor paint work would be forced to pay a shop to do the work. It would really suck if you, a non-certified individual, could not buy your own paint/paint-related products. *sigh* I'm glad, atleast, that the implementation date is targeted for '07. A couple more months and I will have my car painted.
  2. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=98448&highlight=Infinity+machining Quoc... Have you decided not to make a few sets of mounts?

  4. Ever seen a B-52 land in a crosswind? The undercarraige could rotate so that the wheels ran parallel to the runway while the aircraft was crabbing.

  6. Man, oh man... cars are fun, sure... but they're not worth your life.
  7. Er... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99884&highlight=ati http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101174&highlight=ati edit: The above links deal only with the ATI unit and not rods
  8. What's your budget? That's the biggest deciding factor (other than preferrence) when it comes to wheels. RAY'S does custom make wheels but you have to expect ATLEAST a 90 day lead time (assuming they have nothing 'off the shelf' that will fit your expectations). They won't be cheap either. I had a set of Gram Light 57 Pro's custom ordered (zero offset) and they cost roughly $400 per wheel (in 18x8's). Another thing to bear in mind... RAY'S does not offer custom offsets on ALL thier wheels. Where are you located? Call Glenn at Upgrade Motoring (818-998-6005 and http://www.upgrademotoring.com). He knows wheels and Z's (240's specifically) inside and out. He also imports RAY's products and can request custom wheels.
  9. http://www.betamotorsports.com/products/ Look under "240Z Strut Kit". The pictures show the EMI Camber Plates installed on the struts.
  10. I wonder what year it is? The Manta was made between 71-75 IIRC. Probably hard to find here in the US. I MUST find one! LOL
  11. Hey... nothing wrong with a black engine bay! Makes touch-up work a snap (since I'm sure I'll drop more than a few wrenches/metallic items in the engine bay).
  12. Mr. Hankey! LOL John definately has a sense of humor when it comes to these things!
  13. Nope... not much fun... but definately rewarding! Polishing is when my MP3 player (and I nice set of headphones) comes in REAL handy.
  14. ...Or if you want power potential! I'm not going to run (initially) more than 500hp out of my 26. I chose the 26 because if I WANT to go higher... I CAN. heh heh... got a RB30 short block on the way and I'm sourcing another 26 head. Mwuahahahaha.
  15. You know it! When we used to go overseas (Saudi in particular) they would have Saudi 'customs' guys go through our luggage looking for contraband (alcohol, mens magazines, nudie-mags, porno video's, pork products...etc). Word on the street was that they didn't destroy anything... they just kept it for thier own enjoyment... and deprived us of our own! Those guys in question (with the robes) probably weren't talking to the western ladies because they weren't for sale... or they have thier own harem of blonde bombshells (which I hear are quite popular in Qatar and the UAE)!
  16. I don't think the UAE is as hardcore as some of the other nations when it comes to women... but I could be wrong. I think the author and his wife (the only woman I saw in the pics) were westerners... the times I spent in the middle east I noticed some definate double standards when it came to this subject. Western women can get away with it a bit more than the locals...
  17. MSA had thier carbon fiber ZG's at the JCCS (Japanese Classic Car Show) in October. They were definately not the best quality... the weaves were buggered and would only look good if they were painted. I think the regular, non CF, flares would look the best (if you're going the ZG route). You can easily paint them to suite your tastes. That's just my opinion...
  18. That powdercoat came out looking pretty good Jamie! Could swear it was polished!
  19. You guys are wierd! j/k How 'bout: Hole Pit Wip The Lacerator The Vampire or... just... The Z
  20. This is a RacerX quote from Bartman's wetsanding thread. You've probably already read it 10 times... but just in case:
  21. Hmmm... the Extra Cut Rubbing Compound is pretty aggressive and is rated around 1200g. Wetsanding with 2000g and then using the ECRC may be counterproductive. You may want to try a different compound. 3M makes an Imperial Microfinishing compound that removes up to 2000g scratches. Then maybe you want to look at a machine glaze (like 05937). I'm no expert tho... just going by my limited experience! *edit* Have you tried polishing the sections you have worked? I think the products you're using are largely designed to cut and will not give you the luster you are after (without polishing). Where's RacerX when you need him? LOL
