  1. Thanks very much for that, quess I could've searcherd a little better. Mike
  2. Hi guys, I am beginning an engine conversion on my 240z and I intend on storing the L28 that currently resides in the engine bay for up to 8 years. Are there any precautions I should take to insure the engine stays in good condition or can I basically remove it, place it on a wooden crate and cover it with a tarp? I live in Australia so frigid temperatures are not a concern. Thanks for your help, Mike
  3. Yep britten V-1000, you saw it on the history channel? like a doco just on that bike or what?
  4. I scrubbed the name off the side. The exhaust may be to much of a give away.
  5. I'm not sure if this zed has been mentioned on hybridz before but if it hasn't it definately disserves a mention. This car is what made me decide I wanted to buy a 240. I just thought I would post a couple of pic's and a link to the page so others can check it out if they want. http://www.240z.id.au/main_default.htm
  6. I'm sorry dumb question I know but I cant get any results on any topic using the search function. It seems their is a better way of searching but I can't find it, can someone give me detailed instructions on how you guys go about finding the info you want. I'm sure it used to be easy to use a few months ago. Thanks, Mike
  7. I've used ford Falcon XB OR XW mirrors for mine. I would post a pic but for some reason I am not permitted to post attachments (anybody know why?) but have a look at the recently posted pics in member galleries and you can see them. Note: the painter accidently put the mirrors on the wrong sides so imagine them swaped around.
  8. Under posting rules I am able to do everything except post attachments how do I get this changed. Thanks, Mike

  10. Thanks everybody for your replies thay have all been very helpful. I'm glad I don't have to fork out 4 grand for an L28ET that money can now go to better use.
  11. Thanks for the replys guys. I did consider doing an RB swap but for the cost involved in buying the engine and the cost of the mods needed it didn't seem fesible. Also I'm not aiming for a 600Hp weapon I think 300-350Hp will be all I will need and I think I can do this reliably with the L28. I just want to make sure I get the best L28 I can. I'm just hoping that with the addition of a turbo and a change of the pistons and rings (too lower the compresion I assume) I will have an identicle engine to the L28ET. So if anyone knows a website that has detailed info on the L-28 series engines or maybe a comparison that would be really helpful. Thanks, Mike
  12. Hi guys, I have a 73 240Z with a L28 P90 Head F54 Block 1970 SU carbs. When I Bought the car I had plans on installing an L28ET however I live in Australia and have recently found out that those engines were never commercially imported. I have managed too find a well used L28ET for sale here but the asking price for it is around AU$2000. I have not seen the engine yet but I am assuming it needs reconditioning and that will cost another AU$2500 It will only cost me AU$2500 too get the engine I already have reconditioned and it will come with a 300,000km warrenty. My problem is I still want a turbocharged Z and I want too know is there a difference between the engine I have and the L28ET? Is it a simple matter of installing a turbo charger or are there bigger differences between the two engines? Also how do I tell If I have Flat top or dished pistons? Thanks, Mike
