hey out of town for a couple of days will get back to this when i am back at the shop..
let me know exactly what you want so can get it all worked out.
kurt
thanks!
i see, good thinking... and working on it.
basic cut and flip with the oil pickup is 350.00 plus shipping.
adding wings for more volume of oil and trap doors i am figuring out.
will let u guys know
by the way thanks to all for your interest!
well wizardblack offered up something i have touched on.
and i need to sit down and think about it.
different options and cost of the options.
really it is not much to make the sump deeper. to extend the pick is not that hard. making a newer pick up and screen ok a little harder. adding larger left and right sumps not hard but adding trap doors and such does step up the difficulty.
dry sump pan? can be done and should be done on any really serious engine (my .02)
making a an alloy pan is not a big deal a little more time and a call to have the machine shop to blow out a few flanges. should be able to do one around 600.00
once again it depends on how elabrate (?) you want it. some of things have to be done time and materials.
the board only lets you post one message ever thirty minutes to the other person waiting on a rply i will try not to forget you in the hectic day ahead.
i would like to do it that way but would be willing to get few pans and pickups for quicker turn around. with people still sending me their pans THAT ARE USABLE. This would effect price on a crushed unusable pan for a new one modified.
It does take a solid 8 hours plus materials to do this. And to make it look good.We could do it in half the time mig welding it and not taking care of the details but i would and will not do it that way.
Like i told chris you would need to double clean the pans when you get them back from us. not gonna get rich off this but will make a little and provide a good solid product.
pricing for one that will come out better then chris's (sorry chris ) would be 350.00 dollars plus shipping. custom add ons such as side trap pan larger sumps would be more and on a per basis. other pans(aluminum) and mods are welcome but will not be done half way. they will be right or take it to the guy who will do it for half the price.
some of our other work.
header(stainless) oilpan(drysump with scraper) front cover for balancer and electormotive ignition wheel.
chassis lotus europa E prod car
My T buck control arms left over 91 lola chassis control arms.
plus some cars we have restored over the years include a third and a second at pebble beach.
thanks yours did not come out to bad either..
We do lots of metal fab and envmyz asked me to do this for him so i did . i laid it out and my old boss(Ex McLaren Can am fabby and indy car fabby) welded it up we also decided to make jigs at chris's urging .
can do a deep sump wide sump with baffles to . custom would be pretty easy. he wanted a stock look and this is what i came up with...
yep first post. only because i joined to talk about
RB20det oil pan fabrication.... spam? well yah but it is also to help you guys/gals out.
so checking the interest in this.
this was mostly a stock one
first one we did. So i made a couple of mistakes. I made a jigs to move the oil pump pickup and depth and to set the pan depth and angle ... and no i forgot to take pics of this pan in the jigs...
custom mods will be welcomed.
