  1. That's good news, I'll probably get some. You really cant beat the price, It's cheaper than Maaco!
  2. It has a 4+3 in it, but I'm not sure what condition it's in. The suspension took a beating in the wreck. It launched off a 50' embankment and hit a fence with the back end. Three out of four rims are perfect, the last is questionable. All the lights are good, and other small stuff is in good shape, but the body of the car is trashed. It only had 60k on it when it crashed, so everything that's still good is really good. I don't have room to store it, so I plan on tearing it down over a weekend. What all should I grab out of it for my swap? Thanks for your input.
  3. I came across this paint, http://www.kirkerautomotive.com/html/our_products.html, and I was just wandering if it was any good. I just need the paint to last a couple of years until I have the time and money to do it right. My other alternative is Maaco, but I'd rather do it myself. Has anyone worked with this stuff, or know anything about it?
  4. I've heard about some of the limitations, but I think it's a pretty good starting platform. I love the way they look sitting in the Z engine bay, and a little hood clearance isn't such a bad thing either.
  5. A friend of mine just totaled his 86' Corvette. I'm giving some serious thought to buying it from the Insurance company. There is no damage the the Engine compartment at all, so I could snag the engine, computer, fuel pump, and some other various odds and In's. It's a stock L98 with aluminum heads, and some minor factory tuning. What I really need to know is how much is this setup worth and what else should I grab. There are still alot of good parts on the car that I'll probably try and sell on Ebay to get back some of my investment. I might end up with a free motor if the Ebay stuff sells well.
  6. Cool I'll get one next month. I can't wait to experience this tight feeling you speak of. Mine is loud, drafty, and leaks like crazy. Thanks for the reply.
  7. I've searched around a bunch, and found alot about 240Z weatherstrip, but not much info about what works best for the 280Z. How does the one MSA sells fit on a 280Z? Is there a better kit, or a cheaper place to buy the same one? I'm about to strip down for paint, and all my rubber is toast so I might as well replace it while I'm at it. Thanks in advance.
  8. How big is a vacume canister, length and diameter. There's not much to it, so I figure I could make one. I just need to know what size they are. Thanks.
  9. I just got done bleeding the lines and took it around the block. The brakes feel MUCH better. All four calipers are definitely squeesing now. They are still a little spongy and low to the floor, but whatever I did got the air aout of the lines. I'll definately be upgrading the MC, and installing the prop valve in the near future, but for now the car will get me to and from work. Thanks for all the help.
  10. Well I took the caliper apart and hit the brakes a little, and found a small leak, and the slider thing wasn't sliding very well. I already had the rebuld kits so I figured, what the heck. I rebuilt the caliper this afternoon, and it really wasn't that hard. I have it all back together, but I still have to bleed the lines AGAIN. I have an adjustable proportioning valve but I haven't plumbed it in yet. I was hoping i wouldn't have to. I haven't tried the brakes yet, but I have the feeling Im going to have to upgrade the master and put in that valve. From what I've read, you have to gut the stock proportioning valve to put in the new one. Is that right? Thanks for all the help.
  11. My master cylinder worked just fine six weeks ago before I did the swap. I've had the Toyota brakes on the front for a while now, but just swapped the rears. They definately have more volume than the old hub cylinders. I'm running the original 280 MC so I suppose it could be to small, but if that was the case would it gain pedal pressure when I pumped it? I checked the rotors today after a little careful driving and that rotor has barely any wear on the outside and very little on the inside. If I press the pedal the rotor wont turn any more but I don't think it has full strength. I'm going to tinker with it right now. I'll let you all know if I figure anything out. Thanks for the help.
