  1. My Z is unique cuz it's never driven...and hardly ever running! J/K, I would have to say it's the hood/airdam/and interior (don't have pix of the door panels). Airdam looks like crap cuz it wasn't ready to be put on yet, but I had to.
  2. I first heard about this rolling paint stuff here, http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=159142&start=0
  3. Thanks for the info, I'm gonna try it on something one day. How much mineral spirits did you mix to the paint? Like 10%?
  4. Hey, what did you thin the paint out with? I've seen some sites on the net talking about this, they used mineral spirits. Whatever the hell that is, do they sell that at hardware stores or should I go into a bar...or a pub???
  5. I thought I had it, http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetdocs/docs.aspx but navigating is a biatch. Email me.
  6. Email me at v8z@earthlink.net I have the pdfs for the Z32 FSM, I can probably extract a page and send it to you. I know the entire FSM is online tho...just can't remember where...there was a link to it via Courtesy Nissan's website.
  7. Looks like you'll have to make use of bits and pieces of all the suggestions here. I like Sparky's idea of triangulating. Maybe weld on some re-inforcing around the hole, like those donut stickers you use when your paper in your three ring binders tear out. Still, I would look into shortening the ex mani and pushing the turbo forward or backward of the strut tower.
  8. "You guys have way too much free time", writes Owen, as he glances up at the two Rei figurines sitting atop his monitor.... What was this thread about again? Owen
  9. I don't know how long it took you to make, but instead of trying to fix it, I would just use that as a plug. Drape some new CF over it, vac bag and make a new one. Maybe even start a business selling them?
  10. That's Todd Kaneko's car, featured in Turbo Mag a while back. I like how it's really simple yet really well done too.
  11. Very straight bolt in! Except for the wiring, which I don't remember. I basically just used a multi-meter and found which positions were continuous at various switch positions. Let me dig around, I may have it somewhere, but don't count on it:-) You might want to take the plastic over surrounding the switch as your stock one won't fit over it. Owen
  12. this one took first place didn't it? "blah" in my opinion...it was well done yeah, but a roundy bumper with the sharp lines of the rest of the car. Just cuz you can, doesn't mean you should! My buddy with the orange-ish Z with the RB26DETT got 2nd place and my other buddy took 2nd in the OEM class.
  13. I'll be there, hat, t-shirt, jacket, whatever:-) Will be Z-less tho:-(

    Knott's

That sucks! Sounds like a simple fix tho? I was planning to go and spectate. Owen
  15. Awesome! Got mine today! Hmm, left sleeve....left breast...where to put it???
  16. Odd that I never saw this post...I am the who. See my sig.
  17. Awesome work Rob! Interesting, my front diff mount that I made 3 or so years ago is similar to the grey part in your picture. Except it isn't tied in to the rear. I haven't seen Mr. Tyler's mount but am interested. Mine has two plates going back instead of the tubes you have, and they have horizontally mounted fins with holes in them which line up to the diff mount holes. It kinda looks like a fighter jet But basically, it's just suspended there, no mounting from underneath so the bracing to the rear would help a lot. What are you doing for the front of the control arms? Are you using the stock x-member? I did away with that by cutting it and leaving just the "saddles". But I was told that without some bracing, the diff will want to nose dive despite the beefy steel I used in mounting it up top. Owen
  18. Thanks dude:-) Hope to see your car at MSA! Owen
  19. I coulda sworn I seen a mustang with something of a lip like that...Not my cup of tea, but to each his own I guess.
  20. What is the exact "issue" with the Miata rack? After talking with you at MSA last year or two years ago, I picked up the Miata rack and it's been sitting ever since. Is it not usable in some way, or is the Suby rack just easier to install? Thanks, Owen
