  2. Sounds all good but I say no mirrors. More stealth clean with the tint and black color. A part from looks being sleeker I see really no use for them when its easy to just look over your shoulder in a Z driving. Ok maybe huge ones on the door or fenders would work way ugly. Small mirrors, can't see jack. It's not like you have a back seat and trunk to clear passing in traffic. With all due respect fender mirrors on a Z kills the long classic graceful front end. Just my opinion as an industrial designer in the biz....
  3. With all due respect to the hybridZ race team and pinks. A V8 Z would be Killer!
  4. Clean paint but rusty underside. More pics would help.
  5. Steering collum? Is it correct only the early Z has a sliding shaft/upper u-joint into the steering collum? Maybe something shearing inside the collum? I am not an expert. Just a thought.
  6. MSA and full length headers seems the best solution.
  7. I had Holley blue pump. Rubber mounted which ever way and it still made way too much noise. If you can spare the cash switch to Mallory Comp 110. Makes a tenth of the noise and no regulator required. It's so quiet rubber mounting is almost not needed. Probobly perfect for your setup. Thats my experience anyways.
  8. I use a 2 5/8 x 13 K/N with the 1 3/4 drop base. Has about 3/4 clearance to hood. A 3 inch would have fit but very close.
  9. Any kind of a rollover would be scary. Conventional belts work in a street car. Form follows function....Hmmmm Now I am thinking of a grab bar down low pass.
  10. With all due respect here...I had the same helmet. Junk! Dont buy it. You will go blind lol:) I suppose replacement eyes are cheap..
  11. Oh man thats soo cool. That burn out vid with kid is a classic one. Nice job on the LS1 and compartment too. Love the tilt front end and the daytona rear. Very Unique.
  12. Hey Jon thank you! That is great knowledge. Did my arms equal at static lengths but the camber plates adjusted out at slightly different settings. Thought the body was twisted major but I guess it's ok. Also noticed the main x member has slots too. Its not a race car but a cool subject to ponder... Brian
  13. Actually I have these headers in my car. But.. they leak so bad with fumes/gasket games I was thinking of switching something to else. Of course I have holes in my firewall so maybe it will be ok someday, who knows? Never ever had luck with cheap headers in general. But they fit very well with the steering shaft through/between the headers, has slip joint on forward drivers tube, cool. No body mods, great ground clearance and still run an 2.625 x 14 drop base air cleaner under stock hood. Yep angle plug heads too, one tube was dented to clear on pass side, with mods could get around that easy as Grumpy indicated. I think....The motor mounts are MSA types? The motor is mounted to the rear, not forward like Scarab. The small cap MSD dizzy is about an inch from the firewall. Maybe someone could finally answer what they are, that would be killer to know. Just thought to post to maybe help others. Brian I didnt know they were still available. I guess they are!
  14. Nice updates on the ride Phil. Lookin forward to the megasquirt.
  15. Yes the non rusted stock seat mounts and cross frames were cut out by the previous owner to mount some 55 lb seats. So thats how that whole project started. Used aluminmun instead of steel for this particular project to save weight and do something different. 1 inch hex stock spacers drilled through placed between stock floor and seat pan.
  16. Is your rad filler neck mounted lower than your T stat housing? If so you might not be completely filling the system to full capacity. This would create an air pocket in the system. I totally agree the mid 70's hood would let alot of heat out compared to trying to force it out the bottom. FWIW I have a decent hood with a rear cowl and front scoops. I will sell cheap. If your interested just PM me.
  17. Looks Killer!!!!!!!!! If to ask where did you get the door mirrors?
  18. You might need a bigger rad mounted lower in the car to clear hood. Thats what I had to do, but your motor is more. Are your ex fans allowing the air to excape up through the hood or underneath? Blower under hood?
  19. Hey guys, I need advise, I will try to keep it short. Ok car runs finally but shortly after has noise somewhere between flywheel and driveshaft. Like a roar.. in gear, only at speed, clutch pedal pushed in, while slightly reving the motor it roars more. Before all that heard a once light "ting ting ting" sound then gone. Also it only starts to roar after the car warms up? Everything is very new still. Just happened yesterday so the cars is not up yet. Brian
