  1. I have decided to go with a solid 8.8 with a torque arm setup similar to the F-body camaro. With this setup I won't need upper links which rob a lot of seat real estate. Being 6'4", I need all the room I can get. So far the trans is holding up great. I thought it was acting a little funny but it turns out it was the clogged fuel pump that was starving fuel and making it feel similar to a slipping trans. I'd probably still go with an 80e if you have the coin. You shouldn't ever have to worry about trans issues for a long time.
  2. Thanks! We had a blast. I'll for sure hit you up on the next trip.
  3. So far I'm very happy with it. It's only rated to 700 horse so it's probably close to being done but it hasn't let me down yet. It's small and compact for easy placement which is why I picked it. I'll probably want more later but now I need to work on a rear axle solution to get the power down without breaking stuff. Thanks
  4. A friend and I went to a car show in Kansas City yesterday and were able to make a few dyno pulls on the mobile dyno they had there. The best pull made 627 rwhp. I was quite shocked and had to ask the operator a few times on that number. Ha. I was also able to hear the car wide open from the outside for the first time. I likey. Altogether we put about 200 miles on the car and it didn't skip a beat. It was a fun evening. Here is a link to the video:
  5. I've got to say I love and hate these engines. The hate comes from my #7 piston breaking the ring lands but this was caused by a lean condition I had. My fuel pump got clogged from some crap in the tank and starved the engine at WOT. The love part is from being able to find a used piston, installing said used piston, and thrashing on the Z some more. What an engine!!!
  6. My IATs are comparable to yours Sunny but only while cruising. If I get into any stop and go traffic they climb pretty fast. Like when I was waiting in line at the Ice Cream Ctuise. I'm sure I dipped into a part of the fueling tables that haven't seen action for quite some time. Ha
  7. So far the intake is just the turbo. I plan on welding up an aluminum box that will pull fresh air from the hood vent on the drivers side. The turbo is water cooled with ball bearing setup. Thanks for inquiring.
  8. Aww yes, that sounds more like what he's talking about. Thanks Akira. I used mild steel filler rod on the exhaust manifold.
  9. Rod? If your talking about the throttle cable bracket, it's from Lokar as is the cable. They have some nice products.
  10. Those are very clean and simple looking engine mounts. Lots of room for other activities also.
  11. Streetcar takeover is coming up. We'll have to see. I probably won't be able to make it but I'll try.
  12. I wish I would have tried to call you. We were waiting on one of my buddies contacts to text him but they never did. Come to find out later he did get a text and didn't see it. Our night kinda sucked until about 2:00 am. Like you said though, next time.
  13. I was able to make a couple runs against a 4th gen Camaro (383 LS w/no2) this weekend with the slicks on. It pulled hard the first run and I left him pretty quickly. This thing hooks awesome from a dig! It was good to see your car in person this weekend at the Ice Cream Cruise Sunny Z. It's a very clean install for sure.
  14. I tig welded mild steel tube onto the cast steel manifold using mild filler rod for my passengers side mani. So far its holding up but if I do it again I'll go with the nickel rod. The setup has roughly 2000 miles on it so far.
  15. I'm glad you could get that off your chest Sunny. As soon as my budget allows for upgraded rear parts I'll be all over it. Untill then my cell and trailer will be nearby.
  16. I forgot to add that I'm on my 3rd U-joint on the drivers inner half shaft. Lol. I'm pretty sure it's out again ;(. It just turns those needle bearings into a nice grease/metal mush. I also haven't put the slicks on yet so the u-joints might not handle that traction. I put a z-pack in for the 3-4 clutch pack. It's holding now but acts funny at times. After installing it I read it will only handle 450 horse reliably so I'll probably be in it again. I think it will handle my power level but just need to gather the right parts for the next tranny build.
  17. Thanks fellas! Yea, it's still an R200 with U-joint halfshafts. I've purchased the 300z cv joint shafts but just need the bars and adapters. It's hard to let go of that money when I'm remodeling my bathroom.
  18. Here's a short video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P_kKWmCPZ0
  19. Lol, I was just making a video 3 says ago when in the middle of editing my laptop crashed. Hard drive failure. Needless to say that gave me a good excuse to get a better one. I'm going on a short trip and plan on working on it during the layover between flights.
  20. LOL! I was just thinking about you the other day and how I need to get some videos made. I finally splurged and purchased a GoPro a few weeks ago and have made a few videos but my computer is to damn slow to process all the info on 1080p. I'm going to try a video using 720p and see if that will make my laptop happy. I'm going on a mini trip for the next couple of days but when I get back I'll make a grand attempt to get these videos posted. I promis.
  21. Looks like a clean platform to start with. Can't wait to see how yours turns out. I love seeing all the different ways to turbo a V8 Z car on this site.
  22. I'm running a 3200 vigilante stall and I love it. It's very consistant and I've always been treated well as a cutomer.
  23. I'm leaning against my Z with a bag of popcorn to watch this.
