  1. Thanks for the responses! I was leaning toward MS, but you guys put me over the edge. I am impressed with all of the help on this site for tuning and problems. Should have it all together this summer.
  2. I was almost sold on the Megasquirt for my turbo transplant, but a friend of mine says go with the Holley Pro 950. He did not have good luck with his Megasquirt and his Holley setup went flawless, much easier he says. What do you guys think? The Holley is more money, but that doesn't bother me, I want ease of use and tuning. Thanks guys.
  3. I have been reading about these two setups and I hate to admit, I am confused. With an 82-83 turbo distributor do I need the VR or Hall sensor megasquirt? Thanks
  4. I was wondering the same thing, they look just like the other slotted mags of the era, but they have a nice center cap with the Bob Sharp Racing logo on them. That's why I grabbed the caps. I was going to put them on my Western mags that are on the car now, but the caps are smaller than the opening so they don't fit. Maybe I will buy the wheels just to have another set though.
  5. Went to the junkyard today and found a 71 Z with four aluminum slotted 14" Bob Sharp racing wheels. I grabbed all four center caps from them, the wheels look in good shape too. Are these worth getting? Thanks
  6. I went to the junkyard today and found a 71 Z with this magneto on it. Wondering if I should pick it up cheap? It looks like the one on this page http://karmannghias.org/JudsonMAG.htm Are these worth anything today? Thanks
  7. I am looking at getting one, haven't sat on one yet though, I am 6'3", would this bike be too cramped for me? Figured I would ask some of you on here first. Thanks
  8. If you want to use a 4 barrel, why not look into a Holley Projection unit. A friend of mine overseas ran one in his Z with a T04 blowing through it, ran real well too. Plus you get the added benefits of fuel injection. My .02
  9. So I take it you are getting good spark and fuel? Do you still have the fuel injection on her?
  10. I read somewhere that the 90-96 non turbo 300zx's had 4.08 r200's. Is this true? Thanks
  11. Found an 86, well maybe an 86, 200sx with the VG30 and 5 speed in the junkyard. Do these have the 4.11 rears or no. I know the turbo versions did, but what about these? Thanks
  12. I was thinking of making my own harness too. My main concern though is how to mount the wheel that is soild enough. I think the press fit should be good, that is the way rings are mounted on flywheels, but would it stay put on the damper? Wasn't sure if anyone knew what my quote was from.
  13. Was following the threads earlier about different mounting methods of the 36-1 wheel, and was wondering if those press fits ones are working good. Also, someone was talking of making one out of steel that could be welded to the stock balancer, is this still in the works. Last question, went to the yards today, found plenty of Escorts and Explorers, but can someone tell me if I can just cut the wires, or do I need to pull the whole harness? Thanks
  14. I called around the parts stores for a new one, and they ask for the build date of the car. I thought all first gens were 5/8"? MSA only lists one for 70-78. Thanks for the help.
  15. anyone ever try the Hobart 300amp welder. I am not sure of the model, maybe the RC301, but I found one used for $450 and am going to look at it. The owner was not sure of the model number but said it could do both stick and mig, sound familiar to anyone? Thanks
