  1. Hey, I'm not a fan of the 280zx's. Only their engines! lol. Thanks for the offer tho and GLWTS. Any other peeps?
  2. Testing waters WTB:l28et complete swap. Must be located in Florida, prefer to be central florida. I.E. Gainesville to Tampa Fl. Let me know price, location, info, and pictures. Thanks a lot.
  3. I was actually going to swap out the l28et from the auto into the '77 280z with the 4speed tranny. Then figure something out with the 280zx, probably part it out, and get some of my money back.. I would buy both, but no room to store two of them...The Auto l28et harness and ecu will work with the 4speed 280z....right? lol
  4. Hi All, I have a couple options, and would like to ask a few questions... I came across two '82 280zxt's, and one of them is an auto with 82K miles running and driving. The other has 244K miles 5speed model, spun over once, and after that it didn't turn over again(has power, starter doesn't turn over) I would like to know is, would it be possible to bolt up my '77 4 speed transmission to the l28et? Which would you buy if you had the choice? A)Running and driving Auto l28et with 82K miles or B)Not running and driving 5 speed l28et with 244K miles. They're $750 each. I'm just buying them for the engines and accessories, then going to part them out. The engine will probably be stock for awhile, But I'm going to put a FMIC with greddy type S BOV on, and a 3in exhaust and be done. Sorry for rambling like I am. Any/All help is cool. Thanks a lot. Austin
  5. I'm just going to pass on it, I found my old turbo car(not going to say what it is, not a Nissan/Datsun) I went and looked at the 280z again yesterday, and the driver side frame rail, towards the rear of the car was hanging down. lol. Oh ya, I went and sat in the car, and was checking out the dash, and it was just a cap FML. In the 280z, there was a transmission sitting in the rear, with a crap load of parts.
  6. Not that gold 240z, the violate one next to it, floor pans are solid, bad rust i can see with my eyes was a quarter of both rockers, and a little around the rear quarter glass. Who knows still on what I will do, the violate 240z is a whole lot better than that white 280z.
  7. Thanks for the info guys, I'm going to see if he has more, and look at that auto 240z, he has a 280zx 2+2 but eh idk about that. I live in Citrus County, West coast!
  8. I know what a lot of you mean, with me sometimes I can be a impulse buyer...But, this one I'm seriously going to think about. This is going to be a project, and I don't plan on driving it anytime soon or anything in motion with it. Will be on jack stands for the most part.
  9. ^ LOL, the second opition would be cheaper(just going by the prices you estimated), its all in the air right now, I'm browsing around for the tools I would need. I'm going to see the guy again, and chew him down on price as much as I can. I've been on TABCO body panels...whats the deal with them? I seen they sold body panels for the places I need, and the price isn't to bad...
  10. Sticky280zx: Nice car, But I'm looking for something local, thanks though! If I were to buy this car, and take on the rust issues, would I have to weld, all new "sheetmetal" in where the hole are at? How would I go about fixing the rocker panels, just weld in new metal? Don't give me the " if you have to ask that, then this is not for you" BS.
  11. Pictures as promised! Mostly all pictures of the 280z, and a few of the 240z, and others. Gas Door Mint Dash Driver Side Uncle's Z32 in top of pic. Driver side hood-towards bumper. Passenger Side '71 240z automatic. Misc. Pic.
  12. ^ Thanks. oh ya and i did...i think anyways. pics of my old sil80 are on there. I will get pics tomorrow, the guy is kinda weird though. lol
  13. Alright, I will go back to the place tomorrow, and get some pics! It is white, and a 4spd, not sure if it runs, IIRC it is a fuel injected engine. This guy also has a '71 240z, auto, gold, rust,MINT seats, some other Z's as well. Heres a teaser pic of my z32.
  14. Hello Z owners! I'm curious on your guy's opinions on rust, I wanna know or would like to know how much rust is to much? The 280Z I'm looking at has the normal rust, worst place is the rocker panels. This will be my first s30, and don't mind some issues, as this will be a "I feel like working on this today" project.. the car is only $500 bucks. This is a serious question, and please don't flame, and or make smart remarks. Thanks!
