  1. click on the megasquirt install guide and then click the link to the megasquirt homepage and read but to answer your question: FIDLE is the "fast idle" that is part of the megasquirt programming for cold starts. In our MSnS-E code, this FIDLE connection is used as a spark output for spark advance control.
  2. i agree with mario.. there were three times that the led lit up for the trigger in the ecu.. i just picked the center one. have you checked the 12v wire to the ecu and the tach signal? etc?
  3. my trigger angle is like 50.. it'll be different for all cars.
  4. just like moby says.. except make sure you DON'T cut off the wire with the new connector on it.. that's the linearly varibale connection. The one on the sensor is the switch one.
  5. everything is good.. i'm in the tuning stage now. I've got the tps figured out, and I'm looking into the whole O2 sensor thing.
  6. power issues are bad connectors on the cable between the relay and the ecu. The tps has one last problem. It's hooked, the reading come out linear, and I can calibrate it in the tools section correctly, BUT, there is no response from the trottle on the realtime display?
  7. oh shoot, i forgot to update. Actually the 240sx 60mm TB has TWO connectors on it. one is on the sensor, and one is on a wire. DO NOT cut the one on a wire. My brother had told me not to a long time ago and i couldn't remember why. The connection on the sensor has a plug just like the 280zx connector to the TB. This is the SWITCHED connection. The one on the wire looks like a connector on a 300zx (more modern). This is the linearly variable tps connector. This is the one I will need to use. I just had the wrong connector hooked up.
  8. Well, I've got almost everything worked out. I've got two problems: 1. Water leak 2. TPS reads backwards? how do i fix that?
  9. ALSO: if you put a volt meter to the fidle wire (ignition) does it go to 0 volts after about 2 seconds?
  10. ok, here's the deal, when i turn the ignition on, but not cranking, the pump goes through its priming stage. THEN, the fidle/spark green light lights up and stays on, which is taking the voltage away from the fidle wire. NOTE: this is the "extra" code. if you let the car sit for 10 seconds, is the only green light on the fidle/spark light? this is without the middle led on, meaning no dizzy signal.
  11. now it's a power issue. I can hook up the stimulator and get power to the system and read it on the laptop. I plug it into the car, and nothing. I'm getting 12 v out of pin 28 where i believe the power is supposed to come from for the unit. Yet, it doesn't fire up? what's going on here? any ideas?
  12. with the resistor connected to the Vref and the fidle, the fidle line is supposed to have a constant 5 volts. Well it doesn't. The vref seems to be somehow connected to the fuel pump because it turns on and off with the fuel pump. Can someone explain this to me?
  13. I'm having the same problem, and I'm not sure why. I'm getting no spark and I'm wired the same way you are, which is actually the same way as moby.
  14. Yeah, I have the resistor going from the Vref to the Fidle on the relay board (in the MSnS installation guide). Wierd thing is that the 10v comes when the Fidle isn't even connected with a jumper or relay in. I thought the Fidle was supposed to trip the coil.. how does it do this when it always has a constant 10v?
  15. I just realized, what board mods need to be done for the MSnS-Extra code? Also, what mods in Mega tune do you need to make? I have now set the 7pin HEI module as the trigger.
  16. have you gotten this to work?
  17. OK, I have the relay jumpered (buy jumpered I mean I have a wire between two sockets where the relay used to be) I have two resistors, one for the tach signal and one for the fidle. I have a 12v source going to the + side of the coil, which is also connected to the "B" spot on the HEI module. I have the fidle connected to the small spade connector, or "G". I have a ground connected to the "W" spot, and the - side of the coil connected to the "C" spot as in the diagrams. I'm not getting any spark in the spark plug wires. Any suggestions?
  18. Per a multimeter test, I'm getting a constant 10 v to the fidle wire going to the ignition HEI module. There is no relay installed either.. just the pullup resistor between the Vref and the fidle on the relay board that is decribed in the installation. Why is this happening?
  19. I'm surprised I haven't found anything on this topic in the archives. I've got a set of O-ring bosch 350cc style injectors. The nozzles are different than the stock injectors and don't seem to fit in the intake. Can I convert these to fit? Suggestions?
  20. that's the coolant temp sensor? it says so on the wiring diagram
  21. Hey, I noticed that you put values for EasyTherm4 for the head temp sensor. WHy isn't there a connection on the ECU for it? How did you go about this and for what reason?
  22. yeah.. i mean i TOOK electronics (basic) in physics.. but my book's at my house in chicago, while I'm at Purdue.. and I figured I could get a quicker answer by just asking.
