  1. I never work on a car before, and got myself a 280Z few months ago hoping to learn how to work/fix car. The Z was driving fine for awhile. Now, the car is hard to start(takes 3 or more time to start the engine). After the engine starts, it will die again soon. Where should I start checking? The fuel pump? Fuel pump relay? What tools do I need? Any good website, or books I can learn more about car stuff?

    Thanks.

  2. This looks interesting.

The new oil burner is expected to produce at least 310 horsepower and 520 ft-lbs. of torque. It features dual-overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, a variable-vane turbocharger and aluminum cylinder heads with integrated manifolding that helps keep the overall package small enough to fit in the same space as the automaker's small-block gas V8s.

  3. john, what was the purpose of swapping a 13b into the rx8? what are the advantages over the renisis?

I am guess 13B can handle/make more power than the renisis engine. JIC magic has a 500+HP RX8, but it uses the 13B engine. I have not seen any RX8 with Renisis engine make more than 350HP yet.

  4. Hope you are selling after april, after I get my bonus, gift from my boss, and the raise. I wanted to build a SR/RB or LS powerd Z for so long. For a newbie like me(never work on a car before except oil change and replace the door handle), it probably eaiser to "mod" instead of build.

  5. That clutch master cylider looks like it's about half the size of mine. Impressive.

Are you going to stick with the fly-by-wire or put a mechanical throttle control on?

You mean drive-by-wire, right? I know LS* Z is fast(I really want one), but don't think it can fly yet.

  6. It looks more like an octopus to me than spider. Is your car going to be a show car? If not, why do you care about the look of engine. It's under the hood, as long as it's making "enough" power, not many people is going to see it anyway.

  7. I think most of 1.8 L engines are for FWD. Not sure how easy to swap the FWD engine into RWD Z. I think most powerfull stock NA 1.8L engine are the one from Celica GTS, Integra Type R, and turbo engines VW's 1.8T(Golf GTI, Audi 1.8T), or JDM CA18DET(not 100% sure about the code. It's the one from 180SX).
