  4. I am currently in the process of a KA swap into my 73 Fairlady. It is a factory auto and I am happy to see that the stock mount will work. I was thinking I would have to fab something up. Thanks for the info!
  5. Thanks for all the info Tony this will be a big help! And you are right about making a modified wiring diagram for future reference I will be doing that. lol The people that owned the car before me should not be allowed to own another car. lol.
  6. Thanks for the info riscard...I will check that out. TonyD, There are a lot of little gremlins in this car because the previous Jackasses didnt know what they were doing. So while I'm doing the swap I am going to fully integrate the KA engine harness into the Z interior harness, and after getting the dash out I have found wires that were cut and no idea what they do.
  7. Hello All! I am currently in the beginning stages of doing a KA swap into my 73 Fairlady. I have looked everywhere (searched here, Xenon S30, ect...) and cannot seem to find a relaible wiring diagram for the car. There is always something wrong such as the number of wires in a bundle or some such. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 73 Nissan Fairlady that they might be willing to post? Thanks! --Jon
  8. I need the break and clutch pedals that will fit a 73 Fairlady. I am swaping the auto for a manual. Thanks!
  9. I have looked and looked but I can not seem to find a definitiave answer to my question so I will ask the experts. On my 73 Fairlady my headlight switch was fried. The previous owner hooked up some nasty toggle switch for the headlights. I have rebuilt the switch but cant find a clear diagram or picture of what position the wires that were removed were once in. Any help would be great! Thanks! --Jon
  10. Just by looking at the picture, and I am no expert by the way, it appears to be a headlight switch from a Fairlady Z. Also if it is such a switch, and you'd be willing to sell it, I am in need of one for my Fairlady lol.
  11. Can you post pics of your finished result? I think I might have the same problem....
  12. It LIVES!!!!!! thanks for all the help!!!!
  13. Hey man it's all good....I'm learning too. Fir a couple of days I thought the same thing and that the motor was really a 2.4 lol
  14. Thanks for the info! As soon as I get the time and what not I am going to give that a try... At least that way it will crank and we only have to worry about the timing again
  15. I just sent Grench a PM. Thanks for the info!
  16. lol yeah I need to... I just want the car to run for a little while so I can drive it around before tearing into it...
  17. I am having trouble getting it to run correctly. First I thought it might be a carb problem (it was bogging down hard under part throttle)...got those synched up and working...then I thought it might be a timing issue... When we put a timing light on the motor it was very wierd. When the dizzy was 100% advanced the timing mark was at TDC. This motor calls for 10 degrees at 550rpm I beileve. Which made us think that maybe the distributor was 180 off or the oil pump was not in time. Then a buddy of mine thought that the firing order looked a little weird, which might affect the whole shabang, so we changed that to what it is on his l28 thinking it would be the same and now it wont even start. I'm close to just dropping in a L28 with fuel injection and being done lol
  18. I have recently purchased a 73 fairlady with the stock l20 and what not... Does anyone have a diagram of the distributor that shows the firing order on the cap and the position of the distributor in relation to the motor? All I can find is info for the l24 and up when I search. Thanks!
