  1. Hmmm, you can't see my face very well in the other shot--so here's a much better one Yes, that is much better. Look at how handsome I am! Like my Z car? Davy [ October 22, 2001: Message edited by: DavyZ ]
  2. That must be a baaad joke! Tell me please, does Scottie owe him something?!?? Puleeze, don't go away mad...just go away!!! Davy
  3. Just a shot of me walking the dog... Well, if Andy can post a pic of Steve McQueen and say it's him well, I can do this. Davy
  4. quote: Originally posted by James M: Hmm...Is the gearing pretty much the same then? Hrm, good question. The 700R4 is a 4-speed overdrive, and not a 3-speed like a TH350. That 4th gear is just fantastic for highway driving, plus you'll save your engine by using it. If you were only going to use your car for drag racing, then the TH350 is great, otherwise you are much better off with the 700R4. Good luck! Davy
  5. Duke, The performance springs offered by outfits like MSA et al will give you a roadworthy setup you will enjoy. Also if you ever want to go with adjustable height coil-over units, Ross Corrigan can help you with that. Also some Tokiko shocks can really help as well--get them from Ross Corrigan's http://www.modern-motorsports.com/ Just email him with what you want to do--best prices in town. Hope that helps Davy
  6. Terry, if anything, you have to one of the most entertaining people on the planet , your engineering prowess notwithstanding. Davy PS--the "Dr Evil" pic is still my favorite!
  7. Dan, there is a good pic of you under your car on Eric Neyerlin's site, isn't there? Davy
  8. Welcome Glenn! Good to see another Bay Area person on the board I sold my 260Z, so presently I am w/o, but as soon as I procure a 240Z, it's getting stripped of its internals ASAP. You have the JTR book already? If not, buy it! Davy
  9. RXO510, Make good use of the "search" function near the upper right portion of your screen--it'll pull down specific information for you from ages past to the present. I find it very informative and useful!! Davy
  10. You will get really excited when the JTR manual comes in! Heh, that book made me crazy for these cars and even though the pictures are very basic and not really great, they are descriptive and informative. You will enjoy the end product immensely. Davy
  11. Too rich for my blood at this time Maybe Lonehdrider and I can fab something similar? Man, I would love to have a trick piece like that for working on the car. It would be so cool...Hrm, I just thought about all the fluids leaking from the car when it's way over on its side...that part does not appeal to me, but the relative ease of use is incredible... Davy
  12. I emailed them asking for the price in either US$ or DM, which I'll post when I find out. If the unit is scary expensive, all I need is a welder and some steel...Lone, are you listening??? I like this thing much better than a rotissery--with this, the only things you need to remove are the wheels. Or am I incorrect in thinking that you cannot hold a complete car on a rotissery?? I guess it depends on the rotissery used?? Davy
  13. Scottie-GNZ, you started this thread, but I don't see any pics of you! Auxilary, if you feel like coming over and taking a pic of my mug, like the Nike ad says, "Just do it." Davy
  14. Richard, you weld with no mask on?!?? Ouch! Davy
  15. Chase, the pic comes thru loud & clear, Bud! Sorry, but I'm not sure what they are--look great though! Davy
  16. Mike, the progressive rate springs get progressively stiffer the more that they are compressed. They have near stock "give" initially, so small bumps on the road are not teeth shattering, but when subjected to further travel as in performance driving, the stiffer portion of the spring shows itself and limits the amount of compression. Really cool idea. I'm considering them, but I think I'll just do coil-overs for more tire... Davy
  17. Len, as I said, If you feel good about it (like everything will ok in owniing it) no worries; buy it!! Have fun with your new ride! Davy
  18. Maybe I should just do a Mohawk like Lone! Hrm, I used to have hair like Auxilary, but that was 10 years ago! No worries Crowned One... Sorry, couldn't resist... Davy

    New Exhaust

Hmmmm, I kind of like it too! Davy
  20. The bodywork on the car is very interesting too--no drip rails, no maintenance doors, all black with side pipes--definitely very unique Davy
  21. Hey, at least you currently have a project!! I make progress by just sticking my head thru the garage doors... Davy
  22. Phil, you could not be more welcome on this site--I was wondering where you had gone the other day! Did you forget your original login password?? Your fabrication skills (ahem) are second to none and we love to see your work. Thanks for always posting pics of the work in progress--always very impressive. You are making great progress! Davy
  23. Wow, we have Z people from Finland than we do from England...go figure. You have a very nice black Z! What are the specifications on the motor? Davy
  24. Len, do you feel good about this? If you feel ok about it, just go ahead with the car, but if this gives you the willys, then dump it like a hot potato. I can think of a few legal scenarios and a few illegal ones of what might have happened with the vin # discrepancy. Personally, I would rather have the 280Z chassis to do mods on, but that is just IMO. Davy
