  1. Oil filter relocation plate is from Earl's performance and it replaces the factory bulky oil water cooler fitting. From the plate you run hoses to oil cooler and filter. I'll get pics of the rest later.

thanks brother, I'm in the search of a plate that allow the stock oil presure sensor, but not luck...

  2.

Did you take a look at your old gasket to see if there was anything visibly wrong with it between cylinder #2 and any of the nearby water galleries?

Also, since your injector is above where the heads meet the lower manifold, I'm wondering if that would rule out that location ie the coolant can't fall "up"?

Good luck anyways, hopefully you're not replacing another injector in the near future!

The gasket was a bid humid in that section, between #2 and the passenger side water gallery, compared to the rest of the gaskets and that was my theory. the rubber seals were gone and toasted.

tomorrow is the day, i let you know how all went... thank you for your input.

  3. I found deposit of coolant right above my #2 cylinder intake valves. I've never seen anything like it, but I strongly believe it has to do with the lower intake manifold gaskets. what really causes this problem? because of it the #2 injector keep going bad and the car runs like it wasn't meant to.

Please help me to determine the cause of this disaster, can't stand running in 5 cylinders and buying injectors is not fun.

  4. I know many of you have done the 240SX S13 dash into your Z. Does any one kept the heater or it is almost impossible. I'm in the middle of the proccess and I would like to see some examples, tips, recomendations or ideas.

    any input will help.

    Thank you

  5. My project has the z31 5 lug and the Modern Motor sports rear 5 lug. I bought a set of 1986 Z31 turbo / 16X7 20mm offset. since the front is push out 3/4 of an inch, on each side due to the z31 hubs I may not need spacers, but I'm debating as far as the rear wheels.

has anyone use this wheels? or what offset does a 16X7 needs for the rear wheels. I just want to hear other opinons before making the move of buying spacers.

    pic od my little project...

  6. I have a 73 240Z that's my daily driver and I want to get a coilover setup that has shorter overall height (so I can go lower and still have spring travel). I know you can take your strut tubes into a shop and have them sectioned but I can't do this because...

-it's my daily driver and most of the shops I've dealt with in the past tend to take much longer than they say.

-I'm too afraid I'll mess up on the length and then have to spend a bunch of time trying to hunt down stock strut tubes (which again I don't have the time for).

So what companes sell either pre-shortened strut tubes for 240Zs or complete coilover kits (that have shorter tubes then stock)?

I have a bunch of Japanese Z magazines (Hyper Rev) back home that shows tons of different Japanese brand complete coilover kits for Zs but I can't find a place that sells any of them in the states (I'm currently in Iraq so I can't exactly go home and check the magazine for brand names). I'm willing to spend some money (like under $1500 hopefully).

If you are looking under 1500 try http://technotoytuning.com/ they have a killer set up, great for any daily/weekend warrior driver.

  7. I'm in need of a 75-76 fuel tank. Looks like is impossible to obtain this item... can anyone guide me or does any of you has an extra laying around your garage.

    pm please.

  8. One thing people sometimes forgot is that if your car rolls, the fuel cell mounting system needs to handle 100+ pounds of cell and fuel in an inverted position. That also assumes no additional g loads from the rolling impacts.

I just removed a fuel cell from a customer's car that was held in place by 4 sheet metal screws. If that car had rolled the fuel cell would have come loose and rolled around in the cabin with the people.

    Jonh,

Do you have any pictures of an installation. how much do you ussually charge for it?

  9. Credit card not accepted for out of Aus orders. And a phone call is an international call for me.... Otherwise I would have long since called them.

    -Bob

I bought a phone card and call them and used my "check card", again the best way. in person this guys get your order within a week to your house.

  10. Any of you down under types - I'm having a heck of a time with Castlemaine Rod shop - aka CRS that you have linked.

I had several e-mails back and forth about bellhousings and am all ready to order - I just asked for a final quote with shipping and the info for how to transfer the money,(out of country needs to wire transfer into their account).

I haven't heard from them in 10 days since that e-mail and I wrote them 5 days ago and last night...... I can understand if they are busy, but in the last 4 e-mails, they responded w/in a few days at most. Could I talk one of you into calling them and prodding them to respond to me? A gent named Craig had been responding to their sales e-mail address.

Its frustrating because I'm ready to order after they answered all my questions/concerns, but noone is responding now. Unfortunately for me, they are the only game in town for the part I need, (a custom bellhousing to adapt the RB motor to an older GM tranny - actually my G-Force GF-5R which has an older T-10 and Saginaw type bolt pattern).

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    -Bob

your best bet is to give them a call and use your credit card...

and check this site for set up...

  11. are you sure about that? when i got my q45 TB i pulled off the position sensor and set it side by side with my stock rb25 TPS and if i hadn't labeled them when pulling them off you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. both say nissan. both were exactly the same dimensions with the same wiring plug and everything. i ended up using my RB one just to be safe, but can someone say for sure that it doesn't work?

also, some people put the pully on the outside (ie away from the engine) but i didn't have much room there at all so i flipped it over and installed the tb so that the pully was on the inside. worked great. it was also really easy for me to mount the throttle cable. i'm also using a 240sx cable, good length. pic is worth 1000 words ...

I just said tranfers the TPS from the RB motor into the Q45 Throttle.. better...?

  12. About to install the greddy intake manifold on my RB Z along with Q45 throttle body and was wondering if I am going to run into throttle cable issues with this setup.

-does the stock TPS transfer over?

-any advice or tips that i should look out for when installing?

    TIA,

    -Eric

I'm using the 240SX thtottle cable. the TPS Needs to be transfer from the RB motor.
