I relocated the steering shaft to make room for long tube 1 3/4" primary tube headers and wanted to share the results through a few pictures. 3/4" shaft support bearing, 3/4" shaft, 3/4" smooth wall u-joint, and a 19/32 drill bit were all that was needed. I should have ample clearance for any header on this side of the car. The passenger side is now the only concern.

I'm gutting my 1972 240z for restoration. I removed the steering column without any hiccups. I removed the pinch bolt at the flexible coupling and now the shaft is stuck. The "shaft" at the flexible coupling pinch bolt won't come loose. I tapped it with a hammer and still nothing any tips or tricks to get this off? Is it ok to hit it with greater force? Its currently digesting some PB blast. Thanks, Paul
