piston
I am using .355 spacers for my vented 4x4 swap. This is the least problem I thought I would come across. I am looking for the hub spacer bolts with the correct thread and shoulder. I am having a problem with standard fully threaded 10x1.25mm bolts because the shoulder on original bolts helps guide the rotors and hubs to a true center. Where are you guys finding your correct bolts? I went to local hardware stores and can not find the correct size anywhere. When I do find the correct length, they do not have the shoulder required. Now my rotors are moving up and down as they turn, on the jack stands of course.
rejracer
The spacers should be centering on the hub, and the spacer should have a raised area in the middle to center the rotor on the spacer. With that said, I get my bolts at one of 4 locations: 1. Local ACE hardware in Roseville, CA. They have an excellent selection stocked by midwest fasteners. 2. McMaster Carr 3. Bolt Depot 4. Fastenal. When I did my Toyota vented upgrade, I assembled the parts off the car. I got 2 pieces of wood and set the rotors on them, I then loosly hung the hub from it then slowly gave each bolt a half turn each working my way around until it was snug, then torque to spec. This was my best attempt at the time to get it centered. I later pulled the brakes off as I did not like the front to rear bias. Do be aware that the OEM does not rely on the bolts to center the rotor to the hub.
piston
The shoulder(nonthreaded area) sets the spacer and rotors even. I dont have a problem with putting them on, I just cant find the correct bolts, but then I just realized I have some z31 axle bolts that looks like itll do the job.
