ShaggyZ
Thought some of you might enjoy this race of mine from a couple months ago. This is what I've been spending my time and money on instead of the Z. Motorsport Ranch. Cresson, TX (pretty near BigPhil!!). clockwise. CMRA 2011, Round 8 Decided I wasn't having fun in my normal races so I entered a race with GSXR750's, Duc 848's and below (basically the rest were modern 600's). Started last row of 25 entries and finished 8th. Couldn't squeeze by an 848 and a 750 that were attached at the hip in all the tight sections, largely because I'm not a good passer but also because some of these are very erratic. Regardless, it was no less fun than I imagined. My bike: 2003 SV650S, stock power except for exhaust, AK20's, Penske Double, Michelin V front/B rear Picture from that race toward the end, trying to get past that rocketship! johnc
That's some weird classing where you're up against a 750 four with your twin 650. Good ride.
ShaggyZ
Thanks. It's not a weird class issue, it's just the way classes work that you can run up classes but not down. No one ever takes an SV into the 600+ classes, though, which is partly why I did it; you often see 600's up a class or two because they are so close in competition with liter bikes and 750's. The separation in acceleration and overall performance between my SV and 600's is even greater than that between 600's and 1000's.
