monkbonk
I need help in identifying two motors. My neighbor is clearing out his garage and wants to sell off some engines he has laying around. First one: No history on it. Neighbor thinks it's a Pontiac motor, but could be mistaken. That serial reads 237356 YH EDiT: Pontiac 400, from what I can gather on my own. Second one: He believes it's a Chevy smallblock. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, monkbonk Edited October 7, 2011 by monkbonk
Mike kZ
The second one is definitely a Chevy. I would say 70's or 80's. Check the serial numbers at theis site. http://www.mortec.com/ http://web.archive.org/web/20080518030656/http://www.mortec.com/ click "Impatient?" monkbonk
Thanks I went back and got the engine serials. Still need to get the casting numbers off the Pontiac engine to be sure, but I think it's from a 1973 Grand Prix and is a two barrel. The Chevy engine is a 307 from a 1970 El Camino or Chevy II
