zohanisback
1974 260z with a 220k transmission 5 speed swap. When I'm driving, a squeal starts when I am lightly accelerating (loud), but less so under hard acceleration. Usually when it's hotter out. The tranny is old, but shifts good. The engine had an overall and has lots of torque (both on decel and accel) and it's very hard to start without the RPMs shooting up as I let off the clutch. Could I have already ruined the clutch or throw out bearing? Exhaust leak? Serp. belt (sounds like it's from the tranny though). Thanks guys! zohanisback
Bump Also, the high pitched sound comes and goes, but sounds like it's just in back of the transmission. Could a shot U-joint cause that high pitched metallic sound? What about the differential? I already ruled out the serp. belt and clutch. Throw-out bearing still possible. Xnke
Certainly could be a U joint. I'd get it changed.
