jondrummer92
hi, im new to this forum, so i will briefly describe my problem. i have a 1976 datsun 280z with a full L28ET swap. after i crank the car and run it for a while i can hear the valve train tick, i can also hear the tick through the exhaust slightly. i have the oem hydrological lifters. i thought it might be poor oil presser but at idle mega-squirt reads a steady 30 to 34 psi when i rev it out to about 1700 rpm the tick goes away? checked the oil to make sure i had enough oil to run the car sufficiently, and the oil level is right where it should be. any suggestions to what the problem could be? the whole drive train has less then 600 miles on it, is this something that has to be broke in? i am new hydrological lifters.. in the past iv always had one piece with a traditional lash. help! thanks, jon
78zstyle
I don't know man, my P90 Ticks too..but yours is a p90a right? Those are "supposed" to sound quieter.
surpip
Could be just a weak lifter, never tryed this on a P90 head but on some hydro lifters you can push down on them an they will feel weak (not like the rest). I would recomend you take the valve cover off an see if they all feel the same.
