tomcraft
I looked around and found conflicting info.Does anyone know for sure.I have a chance to pick one up cheap and was hoping I could use the diff to upgrade my open r200 with stock half shafts. If it is not a clsd would it still be a 4 pinion stronger version with better shafts?thanks
getoffmyinternet
Whether or not it's an lsd seems to depend on the specific date it was manufactured (4/87 and on) since you're on the edge there. Either look inside or spin a tire. I believe the opens were only 2 pinion.
nismopu
90% of the later z31 open diffs are four pinion, very few had 2 pinions. Yes OP it is dependent on build date, like stated above 4/87 and up.
tomcraft
Thanks,Would shafts be the same? Also can I rely on finned diff. Cover.
getoffmyinternet
IIRC they should be the same. Just the vlsd shafts were different methinks. Finned cover should only be on the lsd but I would double check.
