BenG
If the battery doesn't charge it's probably bad and the alternator may need to be replaced also. Take the battery and alternator to a place like Autozone and they can test it. If the fan is constantly on, the clutch needs replacement. ArchetypeDatsun
There's many places like electric motor repair that can rebuild alternators for cheap.
palladin
..,.ac unit and defogger doesn't work and also the fan is constantly on... FSM located at xenons130.com....start troubleshooting There are different procedures depending on if it is auto air or manual. The vacuum hoses will control WHERE the air blows...i.e. defrost If there is even a minute crack, it will malfunction. Which fan is constantly on? AC doesn't work? Does that mean you do not get cold air or the air compressor does not come on? Be more explicit...it all matters. From the sounds of it I'd bet you had auto air...pain in the azz...Most of us converted to manual air...problems went away.
yarddogg77
Cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning of your electrical connections to start with. The A/C will require a whole other school. Palladins right, the auto air system is very elaborate.

450HPZ
First, check all fuses, remove the switches and perform a voltage drop test across the switches. Its possible they are stuck in the open position. If not then check for voltage at the unit device they control. MAKE SURE YOUR GROUNDS ARE CLEAN!
