BLKMGK Posted March 20, 2001 Share Posted March 20, 2001 1985 - last year for carbs! Automatic 5.0's were cursed with some sort of crappy TBI injection though. Should have a roller cam if it's from a Mustang and I THINK it was the first year for forged pistons too. Good motor rated at 210HP stock, torque I'm not sure of. With low tension rings it's 15 years old now and will probably need a ring job if it's got too many miles on it, possibly seals on the valves too. Overall I'd say it's a good motor IMO.
