Guest jens
That type of ford crank is used to make a 347 out of a 302. This company sells a 347 stroker for a fair price http://www.rpmengines.com/RACING/mild_performance_engines.htm
blueovalz
I beleive that when my friend put one in his old Mustang, It was an OEM crank offset ground. He remarked at how much lighter the newer style cranks were (prior to the grinding) vs the older '70's style cranks.
Guest jens
That type of rods did he use.
Guest jens
www.oemfordparts.com sells a new 347 crank with 3.4" stroke for the 302 and a 3.85" 392 for the 351W. The 351 can be stroked to a 426/435 but i dont know who makes the crank as ford motorsport only has a 392 crank.
BLKMGK
Check out Probe Industries. Probe uses some good parts and has all th estroker stuff you could want for Fords. I seem to recall they use Eagle rods and Ross pistons but I might be mistaken. I've got their stuff in my 351W When you get to the 427 sizes do NOT skimp on heads and do not think that a mostly stock set like a GT-40 could be ported. Go with something that flows and is made for BIG cubes or you'll regret it. I know of at least one person who didn't listen to this advice and made little HP but tons of torque. He's buying good heads and intake now Speaking of intake - GT40 lower isn't bad but go with a BOX upper for a bigger motor. The GT-40 upper has runners that are too long for a big cube app. Those runners are to make torque and in a 392+ cube motor torque is NOT a problem, airflow is! Consider converting a carb intake to EFI.
Guest jens
I think that the 351w with a edelbrock 400 hp rpm package or the 385 hp ford motorsport package would be good enough for me as i have read that a sirius 408+ cui engine should be build in a siamesed higher deck block from ford motorsport as the stock block shouldnt be bored more than 0.30". But i have seen a 408 probel a streetlegal 66 stang in the 10s with 9" slicks so high 11s shouldnt be a problem with a milder cam in a z. this company sells a 426 stroker cheap. http://www.rpmengines.com/RACING/mild_performance_engines.htm But its only for mild performance so i wonder how good it is and that bore size they use as it got to be a stock block and maybe a offsetground 400 crank. Guest jens
I was wrong a 426 can be built in a stock block Probe sells a 4.17" crank for 595.99$ and 6.125" rods for 449.99$ so with a 4.030" bore its a 426. But the piston pins is going to be very close to the rings.
Guest Anonymous
They're prices seem pretty good. I havn't seen a graph of its power output (the 426), be nice to see what its torque/horsepower curve looks like. Of course as with almost any stroker, traction will be the biggest concern.
