Stock radiator hose size

Does anyone know the ID of a stock upper radiator hose? Im going to mount one of those universal "in the hose" style adapters that let you thread in a temperature probe (I know i know, not ideal. Its only temporary so i can have some gauge at my temp while making a 4+ hour drive getting the car to cali for some more work), but dont know what size I actually need. Sadly my cars half way around the world so I cant just walk into the garage and measure it :\

Now I did of course look online, and have seen a few parts-sites listing the stock ID at 1.38 inches- Leading me to believe I should go ahead and order up a 34mm adapter unit, BUT I've seen a few websites as well that contradicted this. So I figured id play it safe before i ordered something and see if I could get a hands-on that confirms this.
