Guest Anonymous
I found a good deal on an 88 5.0 from a t-bird with a 5spd from an 89 GT. I was wondering is there any difference in the physical shape of the 2 engines such as oil pan sump, etc? Also are any of you Ford guys producing motor mounts for the ford conversion yet? Guest Anonymous
None that I can think of! I know the 5.0 that came in the Bronco had a diffrent oil pan setup. -Magic
Dp351zcar
I don't know if I would worry about the oil pans of a ford as a 302 can fit behind the front crossmember. My 6Qt front sump pan is sitting just a little under the xmember and behind. That is as low as I could go and still clear the steering rack with the balancer. I think SCCA (Mike) is going to make one of Asil's (sp?) crossmembers. I think there is a link to some plans if you do a "search" on ford crossmembers. Guest Anonymous
The Fox-body Mustang and T-bird 5.0L motors both use the "double sump" oil pan. Actually, the "front" sump is only there for oil pump clearance.
