surpip
Has anyone had any luck with using stock components ie, evaporator expansion valve, with a Sandon compressor? I’m debating on where to go with my AC, whether or not I just need to buy a vintage air unit. I have the stock condenser as well
bigbore468
surpip, You'll probably get slammed or NR for not using the search tool prior to posting this; there is plenty info on using a Sanden SD508 compressor with the stock S30 AC system... I'm currently in the process of swapping out a GM A-6 compressor to a Sanden 508 unit, and found out the swap will be prety easy. The brackets for compressor mounting can be purchased from several sources, and the 508 unit can be mounted in various locations using either v-belt or single belt pulleys. Some of the bigger online sellers are Vintage Air, Old Air Products, Alan Grove; but I found some great small businesses that were really helpful too. My A-6 compressor is mounted on the drivers side just off the side of the valve cover, so I'll need to fab up some brackets to mount the Sanden compressor in the same position. You can also purchase heads for the Sanden 508 that allow the use of various hose configurations, so almost any set up is possible. Hope this helps you out.
