'71 GT2
I'm putting together all the parts for a vintage '71 240Z GT engine. Going the 3.1 Stroker route w/ triple 44 mm side draft carbs. Can anyone recommend a 89mm pistons (KA24DE?) supplier to use? Once I get the right ones my machine shop will handle the rest.
steve260z
Looking at cast or forged?
z-ya
race, or street use? For street I would use OEM Nissan cast pistons. For race, choose one of the many forged piston makers, they all make them for the KA24E.
'71 GT2
Going in vintage race car so I'm looking at initially using forged. Cost is a factor though.
z-ya
If you are planning on running the motor over 6000RPM for long periods of time, forged is the only way to go. Weisco, Ross, JE, etc. They can make you whatever you want.
ZIPPY
For forged pistons on the cheap side look at Supertech Performance or Probe forged pistons. I know they make ka24 forged pistons for a lot less money than your usual names in the piston industry. Search their websites, find the part numbers you want and then fine th best price vendor. If you want a custom set, talk to Elmer at Arias Pistons and he will fix you up. From them a complete custom set with rings piston pins and locks will cost about $900.00 out the door. They make an amazing product by the way.
