The apple doesn't fall far from the tree....

As a Teen driver I had my fair share of stupid tickets and accidents. Seems my son is following in my footsteps! He's one of the smartest, dumb people I know!

This why I refussed to paint his car. He was going fast, came up behind a slower car, decided to pass, realized he was going head on with another car and couldn't make and went off road to far left through mud, water and lodged the car nicely on large Palmetto Palm. So much fun waiting 2 hours on a tow truck. Just glad no one was hurt.

At least he didn't panic and had the presence of mind to drive off the road instead of freezing up and hitting the other car head on. So while he DID make a bad decision with a momentary lapse in judgement to make a chancey pass in the first place at least he didn't hurt anyone else and has good reactions.

He isn't the only one! Like you said, good thing no one was hurt.

You know why I earned my title? CFIT- Controlled Flight Into Terrain.

I decided to blow through a stop sign, which turned out to be a T intersection. Went dukes of hazard style into some farmer's field. This was about 2 weeks after my dad and I had just spent an ungodly amount of $$ on a paint job.

Thankfully, it could have been worse, and neither of us were hurt at all.

Agree 100%. He is a smart kid, good reflex skills and such, but incredibly arrogant and impatient. In his eyes there shouldn't have been a slow driver in front of him so he can go as fast as he wants to get home in time from his girl friends house 4 miles away.

He has a hard time with timeliness because he thinks it's relative to what he wants to do. I keep trying to teach him, at least in driving, it's better to go slow and be late, then get into an accident or get a ticket.

He's only been driving since June and has two tickets already for...... you guessed it, speeding to school because he's late!
