powerbands?

guys the main thing that keeps me leaning towards putting a RB26DETT into a Z car is that it has a HUGE powerband

spool at 3500rpms and pulls to 8000rpms

if i can somehow get something close to that in a L28T i'll get it instead

how can i get a L28T to spool a turbo and have a high enough redline where i have 3000-3500rpms of power to play with? and make close to 400rwhp?

ball bearing turbos ARE an option and so is headwork and a cam, etc...

thanks

You won't get an L28 to pull like an RB26dett, Nissan did some major engineering to this motor . Once you start shooting for that +450hp option the RB option looks better and better . Lets break it down

L28 setup

$700 Pistons

$2000 EFI system

$200 Fuel Pump

$300 Injectors

$500 min for intercooler & piping

$1000 headwork

$500 L28et block

$700 Turbo

$200 Blow Off

$1500 for stuff I missed

I know this doesn't add up to the cost of an RB26 conversion but for mabey another $2,000 more you could have so much potential, plus amazing powerband .

that sounds like a much better price...

there's a place over in australia that has them for about $6100 in australian dollars

i did a conversion and that came out to $3100 and some change...

i dunno if that includes the turbos or not; but they're just two garret T-25s i think

i have a budget for about $5000 for the engine alone...
