Guest Anonymous
I am starting a sbc conversion in a 70 240Z. I know a stock 240Z tach. won't work with an HEI distributor (260 or 280 will). I am considering using a Mallory Unilite distributor (electronic) because it would allow me to set the engine back another 1/2" as compared to the bulky HEI. The Unilite uses a remote coil and ballast resistor like a point distributor. Will the Unilite work with the 240Z tach? I appreciate any info. Guest Anonymous
Can you tell me what I have to do to wire in a MSD to a 70 240 Z?
Guest Anonymous
The wiring to the coil and ballast resistor remain same as stock 240Z. The black-white wire with protective sleeve is connected to ballast resistor. Green-white wire is connected to other side of ballast resistor. The other black-white wire (without protective sleeve)is connected to + side of ignition coil. The tach. should work. Per JTR.
