Yes they did. I would love to put up my 9 sec Luv truck against the Monte guy and sandbag the hell out of it. Well thats what they did as it was just a big SANDBAG race.

  6. It's a 2004 A4, Sticker was 47,000, local dealer discounted to 36,800 then GM came out with a 3,000 rebate. So I thought what the heck I'll take it.

  11. You might think a geo-synchronous orbit is safe' date=' huh? Well, I think that all the stuff that's flying around randomly will probably collide with a geo-synchronous object, and add to the other junk, probably at a migher, "geo-synchrous" level. The things have to be at a propergeo-synchronous orbit, in sync with all the other objects. Anything less will create a hazard.[/quote'] geo-synchronous orbit is 22,236 miles up. Anything above that will have an increasing orbit. Anything below that will have a decreasing orbit and will at some point. re-enter the earths atmosphere.
  12. I never have been very fond of green on any car. But THAT GREEN looks sweet as hell on that car. +1 for green.

This motor/trans is out of a 96 Corvette. HHMMM lets see If I pocket port the head's and put the HOT cam in it, Will I need to upgrade the injector's???? 400+ HP sounds good and that will be my goal (But I would take more ) Vortec would also be considered. (6 psi boost)

I've got an aftermarket LT-1 type setup on my 383 with Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and a Crane Hyd roller cam with modest lift and duration. Also running 9.5:1 cr. Mine's rated at 375HP+/-(@ sea level of course) @ 5200rpm. I believe my cam is a little beefier than the LT-1. My cam is not very wild due to the fact I was running with a Paxton until recently. Forced induction and wild cams usually don't go well together. With Crane's "661" hyd roller cam and a cr of 10.5:1, 450-475HP @ 5500 rpm is possible(this is with a 383 of course). I think most of the oem 350ci LT-1 setups were rated at 275 -325HP-still fairly healthy for a small Z car. Are you running Fuel Injection or a carb? I understand the HOT cam for the LT1 is the ticket (from what I have heard) will the fast burn heads fit an LT1? I am old school and not up on the newer motors. 18. What kind of power can be made out of an LT1 with bolt on's ect. Received my Factory Service manual for my 90 300zx and have the motor out. and an LT1 will fit in the engine bay!!!!! I also have located a 96 LT1/T56 combo with 38,000 miles on it for $2,500.00 so I plan on trying to pick it up this weekend.
  19. quote: Originally posted by Les Heath: 600+ hp is just a wee bit much for the street, my 420 horse motor was more than a handful to drive and it had 285-50 15's on 10 inch wheels in the rear with 3:54 gears. And forget traction at takeoff, it does not exist unless you are going to a 4 Link set up or Ladder Bars with a panhard bar. My car went through the traps at 13.02@101mph and the tires were spinning at the 1/8 mile mark. I was also using a Turbo 350 trans (did not last long)and launching at 1600RPM's, any more would boil the tires. If you are looking for a fun street ride, 300 horses will do you fine and you can run 13 sec. times with an A/T null 420 hp and you only turned a 13.02@101 mph???? did your car tip the scales at 3900+ lbs ??? sorry but up here at 3500 asl 420hp (sea level hp.) is worth at least mid 12's on street tires. just my opinion but that time really does not sound right. I had like 490 hp. in a 73 in the past and turned a 11.13 at this alt. (on DOT slicks) Just my 0.02 worth. . Stan . ps lets not forget that a stock rear can hook up. check it out. http://members.tripod.com/scarp/noszcar/noszcar.html [ May 08, 2001: Message edited by: scarp ]
  20. I have spent all dadgum day on unwiring, unbolting acc. and just trying to get the Z32 engine ready to come out. What a pain in the butt. That engine is so tight in there that there is hardly any room to work. A friend of mine stopped by with his LT1 camaro and I took some rough measurements. And it doesn't look to good. I,ll know more once I get the 6 out. Stan
