EvMcMan
Hey guys, I picked up my 280zx turbo last may as a 30th birthday present... I wanted to introduce the car now, there is still lots of work to be done but I've been working on it quite a bit so there is at least a little bit to show for it now... Also, I am currently an automotive student and have 3 classes left to graduate this spring so the car has been great for learning a large deal as well. When driving it back from purchasing it i noticed almost immediately there was an overheating issue, turned out the condenser was all sorts of clogged up with oil and dirt, I think the thermostat may have been stuck as well. The heater control valve was also leaking into the passenger foot well area... I had to take the whole dash apart to replace it. When in there I noticed all the weather seals on the ducting was turning to dust so that was all replaced as well. I've started working towards making upgrades now, as the issues the car had are now fixed... I think a goal of somewhere around 350 to 400hp is reasonable with what I have planned. Upgrades so far: Champion Radiator. Water to Air Intercooler setup with an icebox. Relocated the battery to the back with an aluminum Taylor box. All electric Fans for the radiator and the smaller front mounted. Mahogany steering wheel and Shifter. Replacement floor mats with the 280zx turbo stitching. Replaced the leaky Water Pump. Relocated the ignition coil for the intercooler to fit. Removed the factory air box and put in an aftermarket air filter. Parts yet to be installed but purchased... 440cc injectors. Pallnet fuel rail. Mallory fuel regulator. Turbosmart recirculating BOV. New timing chain kit, bunch of gaskets/ seals. Need to get/ do... Larger fuel pump, and fittings/hoses. Larger turbo, with exhaust. Megasquirt ECU. Once I get the chance to move the car to a garage where I can pull the engine I will probably do a complete overhaul. Also will completely clean out the engine bay, repaint/ restore parts etc... And now on to the pictures, if you are still reading up to this point... And of course, one shot of the daily driver, a 2007 Cadillac STS-V... Hopefully I'll be able to get some more work done, right now my goal is to finish a good tune with all the upgrades installed and see what kind of time I can get on an official 1/4 mile run... Otherwise, I will try to keep the post updated with some good pics and of course if anyone has any comments or questions please feel free!! -Evan
slownrusty
Very nice! Some cool upgrades and you are one of the few owners who have a successful air to water IC set-up. Welcome to HybridZ Yasin
