Guest ZSource
I have two crankshafts that are supposedly LD-28s but I didn't personally remove either one from the car. Is there an easy way to verify that I have the real thing? By the way, both are for sale if anyone is interested.
Kennysgreen280zt
The one I have that I pulled myself has a V07 casting mark in it. I am not sure if this is the way to identify one or not. The other two cranks I have laying around are not LD28's and they have different casting numbers. hope this helps ya out. laterz ~Kenny
Guest Anonymous
I would be very interested in one of the cranks if they are in good shape and are in fact ld28's. What kind of price would you be looking to get out of one of them?
Guest Anonymous
i got seconds!!! i need a REAL ld28, just got screwed with another l28 crank, anyone need one? 50$?
Guest sabum
FYI The V casting is how you tell if the crank is Diesel or not. I just purchased one from Tony F. and verified this # with the local dealer.
johnc
You can also weight them. A stock Nissan L28 crank is 48 to 50lbs. Diesel cranks are considerably more.
Guest norm[T12SDSUD]
John ,I have weighed the diesel crank before and it is only 2 lbs. heavier than the l28 crank. Another way to check is to look for a dowel pin locating hole. I know the manuals had them since the flywheel weighed a whopping 38LBS!!!!
