Pasquale
I bought a S1 head from a seller on Hybridz and after thinking about it I desided to get a S2 instead. I ended taking both heads to the machine shop to have both of them cleaned and rebuilt but I gave the machinest specific instructions to keep everything seperated and labeled becuase I've read that some S1 and S2 parts arent interchangable and can damage the motor if you try to use them in a head they werent meant for such as the cams. I was given one complete head and one head with a box of valves springs cams but with no Indication if he used the right parts or which head is which. I've been looking on the web for indicators but I really havent come up with anything. I was wondering if you guys know of any indicators to look for on a rb25 head that will give me some indication as to which head is which and the same goes for the cams. Any pointers would be awesome! I'll post pictures in a little bit.
Vandergriff84
I am pretty sure that the only mechanical difference from S1 and S2 is the plastic compressor wheel on the S2. They switched to built in igniters on the coil packs and they changed the MAF but other than that I believe everything is the same. If someone else knows different please chime in and correct me. Pasquale
OK cool I called raw brokerage today they pretty much said the same thing. I just want to be sure before I cause damage. I've been rebuilding this motor for over a year now piece by piece.
