Guest Luigi Posted October 14, 2002 Share Posted October 14, 2002 I was given a 280zx turbo engine and trans. I have few questions. Have any of you extrude honed the stock exhaust manifolds? Are there any of the individual throttled L series turbo engines up and running? How does one add an external wastegate to the stock manifold? Is it necessary? Since the outlet of the T3 is less than 3", do we use a short transitional to get to 3"? or bore the wastegate housing? Guest Zcarsmakemyheadhurt Posted October 22, 2002 Share Posted October 22, 2002 I haven't extruhoned a stock exhaust manifold but I have done intake and heads on other cars and it worked out good. Specialy the intake that wasn't done properly and sent back to correct. You got to run it threw the machine lots of times to get the effect you desire. Not cheap on a cast iron manifold use a grinder and dont go crazy. You dont need a external waste gate on a stock turbo but if you added one you want it close to the collector at the turbo.
