HICKL
My 76 280 is running rich. Has been sitting up for a while. Stumbles off idle, runs ok in the higher RPMs. If I warm it up and clear it out it runs better, but next day will will be rough again. Where do I start? Boot between airflow meter and manifold had crack. I taped it up real good but need to replace it. I think it is sealed for now though. Please help. Guest Anonymous
The first thing you need to do is replace any and all cracked or split air intake boots. The very next thing you should do is check fuel psi.It should be 30-35 psi. at idle, and jump up to around 42 psi. when you snap open the throttle. You should also clean the throttle body with an old tooth and some carb spray, on the INSIDE. Try that and let me know.
