We Bad
The book "Kimini: How to design and build a mid-engine sports car - from scratch", by Kurt W. Bilinski, contains a excellent write up on building an exhaust header. Go to www.kimini.com for a sample, and best of luck with your project. Most folks are afraid of header fabrication. Zfan1
Got a pair of Hooker Super Comp long tubes for the Hooker/Scarab type set up. They are used, ceramic coated 1 5/8" X2 1/2" for 200.00. Ran them for several yrs until I went over to the darkside (LS2).
7one Z
instead of making my own headers I found a set of headers from headman that will bolt up. they are a fender well header. So I had to cut out my fender wells in order for the headers to fit. Edited April 15, 2015 by 7one Z
7one Z
So I bought a set of Hedman headers instead of making headers. But the only down fall is that I had to cut out my wells. Edited April 15, 2015 by 7one Z
fastzcars
I applaud your attempts to get full length headers to fit, but I hope your going to reinforce the shock tower's with some roll bar material? You've just eliminated most of the strength of the chassis by doing this!
7one Z
Yes I already have something planned for that. trust me that's been going through my mind when I was cutting that out.
