Guest Anonymous
I have LT1 aluminum angle plug heads, and I was wondering if there are any block hugger style headers that will work with these? I seem to remember someone referring to reverse tube headers. Who makes these, and where could I get them from? I was also told that the tight tubes headers might work, but I don't understand how. I've been putting together my exhaust system from the rear forward, and all I have left is to get headers, and hook them to the rest. Any help will be geratly appreciated. Danno74Z
Brian, I asked the same question to Mr. Solace President of Sanderson because I too have the LT1 engine. Here is part of his reply. Don't forget about that knock sensor! One source for you. Danno "No Zoomies ... look at the #CC2, #CC3, #CC90 at: http://www.centuryperformance.com/sanderson7.htm You can order online, but specify the engine/heads you are using to make sure we get you the ones with the correct flange. Otherwise, just call to order". Samuel A. Mike kZ
I got my reverse headers from http://www.zigsstreetrods.com but I'm not sure if they will fit an LT1. I did have to dimple the passenger frame a little, and I will be putting in another u-joint in the steering shaft to clear the driver side header. Guest Anonymous
I looked at the Sanderson headers, and The CC2 will probably work. I went out and measured, and there should be plenty of room. Also, the knock sensor is roughly 8" down from the header bolts, and not centered, so since the header is only 4" from the bolt holes to the collector flange, I should be able to route the exhaust away from it. All I need to find out now, is how close to the block these sit. Thanks guys!
