Owen
This is all Greek to me. I just want a dash display to show what gear I'm in, like at the very first post in this thread. If anyone can make these cheap, I'd be interested. Oh, for a T56 please Owen
Guest Anonymous
if you ask me, i think it would be cool to make an aluminum shift gate like the ones is ferraris and lamborghinis. then all you would need is a little button on the end of each one of them. just an idea though. Guest Ziggy Vulcan
ok, first of all, you were probobly watching World Rally Championchip on Speedvision. They need the led indicator because they don't use a normall shifter. They all use either padle shifters or little knobs by the steering wheel that they push forward or backward to go down or up. Without the indicator, they would have no idea what gear they were in since it isn't standard H type. About the computerized guages, you can buy car specific screens from alpine of clarion to display the data, hook that to an HKS camp system which was designed to do that and to work with those kinds of screens. That would save alot of trouble programming, all you have to do is read the instructions! All that said, it still would be cool lookin to have an indicator, even though it wouldn't be that functional seeing as how you should be able to tell what gear your in because of the position of the shifter. I can't really tell you how to rig one up 'cause I'm not as smart or experienced as everyone else here.
Owen
I dunno, the positions of the shifter on the T56 are pretty close. I tried to make a gate but the slots for say, 2,4, and 6 were so close together it wasn't worth the effort. A thinner shifter lever would make it easier...
