Plumbing question

Are flare fittings all the standard 37 deg? I know an is 37 deg right? What about brake lines? They the same 37 deg flare?

ie. I'm wondering if I need to get a new tubing flare tool to do my fuel plumbing!

Also, is there a tool that puts a bulge in the end of a tube for hose clamp type connections?

And last, how did anyone make a fuel rail for their l6? Did you just buy a length of stock and drill/tap holes for barbed fittings to hook up to the injectors? Any harm in using the stock l28t fuel rail? It's 5/16 or 8mm right? I can't fathom how 8mm tube can't flow enough fuel... you could empty the fuel tank in a matter of minutes through an 8mm tube!

I will need to run another fuel line from tank up to engine. So I figure if I gotta do it, why not run a big one since it costs basically the same.

Ideal-z sells fuel rails. 159.00. Ouch.

I haven't made one, but I had a design for one somewhere. I was going to use 3/4" square tubing, and basically drill and tap for hose barbs as you said. I figured I could do it and have it powdercoated for under $50 easy.

The stock rail should flow enough, you are right. But it looks butt ugly. smile.gif I'd much rather have a straight rail.
