Over heating Part II

To all,

Per my orginal posting of "Over heating" on 7 May.....I think I have discovered my problem after all these years. Here is what it boils down to. It was not that I wasn't moving enough air across the radiator, nor was it the size of the radiator, it was, and listen close, the fact that the water was not staying in the radiator long enough to cool down. After lots of changes here is what works best for me. Put the pulleys back to standard configuration. The over speed of the pump mover water to fast at idle. Used the HD Flex fan, schroud, 185 degree thermostat, and a 1/2 inch restrictor plate (I split the upper hose and inserted there). Now is runs about 185 degrees at idle and does not climb.......solved after 3 years.

I do thank every one for the advice....it sort of headed me in that direction.

thanks

Pete
