Craig76z
I was wondering if you guys could give me some information on hard to find parts. I have a 78 and I'm looking for inner fenders, the plastic pieces, but I can't find any anywhere. Is it common to leave them out? Second I need the fender to body weatherstripping. I can only find it for 30 bucks a piece. Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative? Thanks for your help.
greghassen
i bought mine used on ebay a long time ago. They're getting old and brittle though. If you drive in rain alot i'de highly recommend them because it protects the inner fender from splashing water. You might be able to make your own using ones from a newer car. Cut to fit. These guys may have some. email them http://www.zcarsource.com/inner-fender-liner-280z-77-78-right-used_8_56009_56377.html Edited April 19, 2016 by greghassen
RebekahsZ
Craig, those inner fender parts are junk yard items. Or, you can post a WANTED ad in the classified section of this forum. You really do want to use them as they reduce rusting after the collection of dirt and mud in places that tend to get trapped and cause rust out. Finally, if you aren't prepared to spend $60 on weather stripping, you need to sell your Z and buy a Honda. Keeping an old car up is expensive. It's just the facts.
