gogriz91
I've got a factory remote oil cooler from a ZX turbo on my Z but one of the fittings between the mount and the radiator is leaking so I need to remove it and repair it. I didn't mount it on the car and am curious if the threaded fitting on the block is still there so I can remove all of the oil cooler components and just screw the oil filter back on to the block or was it removed to put the remote mount on.Any help would be appreciated. LanceVance
The 280zx remote oil cooler adapter takes the place of the standard L series oil filter stud. Fortunately the stud is cheap and straightforward to install. You need this: 15213-21001 STUD-OIL FILTER
gogriz91
That's what I was afraid of, have one on order, thanks.
HowlerMonkey
Also remember that the bypass valve for the oil filter on cooler equipped cars is on the adapter and not on the block. This means you get no bypass from your oil filter because that hole has a plug in it replacing the ball valve. This is not a bad thing. If you keep your oil clean enough to not clog the filter, you probably won't have issues.
