Grumpy, or anyone else...

I've had this page bookmarked for a while, and have been meaning to do it, although to a 79 280zx, not a 240. The reason being, I now beleive that my stock ignition module is bad, and it's $214 for a new one eek2.gif I figured I would convert to a 280 dist so the module wouldn't be right underneath the upper radiator hose (stupid design) The I saw this, and figured a 35 dollar module would be better than $214 for a nissan unit!

Sorry for babbling, here is my question,

Does anyone know what kind of car this module is from, so I can tell the guy at napa? If I tell them it is a standard 4-pin GM HEI module, he'll stare back at me with a blank expression for hours, or until I tell him a car to look it up on.

I am about to post under the troubleshooting board to get your opinions on why I think it is my Ign. Module.

Thanks, Kris

I don't know what else it came in, but the 4 pin was definitely in a 72 chevy 1/2 ton truck w/350 motor. Whenevery i buy engine parts, i give this vehicle (except my ignition, which is points, so i tell them a 68 truck with 327). But before i went with points, I used HEI with 4 pin module, and this is the truck i got it out of. I still have a spare 4 pin module laying around (used the distributor as a core), so i will send it to you if you want, just pay shipping on it. I would send it to you free, but i've been out of work for a while and cash is in short supply...

Bill,

Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to write that down. After talking to my dad, he may have one lying around that he won with a bunch of stuff in an ebay auction.

If the one that he has isn't the correct module I would definitely appreciate it if you would send me one, I would be more than happy to pay shipping and anything extra if you'd like, I'm sure it'd still be cheaper than napa smile.gif

I'll let you know in a day or two when my dad finally finds the one he has ;)

Thanks again,

Kris
