I've got a 1983 280zx 2+2 2.8,

Q: I also have a rebuilt 3.8 out of a 1985 Olds Mobile, Regancy 98. Can I drop this bad boy in there without to much trouble or will I have to hire a mech? I do know about cars and such but, am in no way a mech...

I am in the city of Santa Paula, County of Ventura, State of California. Will pay cashooola for someone to assist me with this conversion...

Once this motor is in how do I get it smogged

???

Thanks,

DannyZ

There won't be any kits, so some fabrication will be necessary. If you're not comfortable with the task, and even for the conversion veteran, it can be pretty frustrating at times, I'd check some of your local custom rod shops for help. As usual, the JTR manual will give info. on good engine placement, (for v8, but applicable to all) wiring, trans choices, some smog info, and many other good tips. There are plenty of legal Z conversions running around CA. I'd try asking what they've had to do with emmissions. Post your emmission ? in "Misc Tech" forum, maybe someone can give you more info. It would make a cool swap, not high on the hp chart, but a good reliable, readiliy availible engine.
