Friend of mine has a '83 280ZX and he's considering replacing the engine without replacing the transmission. The engine is stock right now. Guest Aaron Posted May 14, 2002 Share Posted May 14, 2002 Welcome. Not much will bolt up to that transmission. Easiest swap would be a turbo L28 from a similar ZXT. The VG30 from a 300ZX(T) might bolt up but I don't know for shure. Outside of that, you are going to need to replace the trans. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
