Guest Anonymous
I have a bone stock 81 turbo... 3 spd auto. I recently ran a 14.81 at 97 in the 1/4 mile. I want to hear what everyone's recomendations are for lowering my ET's. Here is my "plan" as it stands. Starion IC 7th injector installed before TB triggered at 10 PSI. 15 PSI pop-off valve Wastegate set to 14 PSI. (boost gauge and A/F gauge aswell) Now... here's my question... running 14 psi with the stock t03 with an intercooler and the auto tranny... no other mods... What am I looking at for an ET (asuming of course I can drive the dman thing) 13's? 12's? I know there are alot of tuning factors aswell. I do plan to run a 3' exhaste from the turbo back... I heard taht makes a BIG diff in these cars... especially with the added boost.... I'm asuimg that if I want to run more than 14 PSI of boost I would need a t04 compresor on my turbo... is this correct? Also... I know at STOCK boosts the Auto's are faster than the 5spds..... but what about at 14 psi? what about a blow off valve? I have also heard of people using the fi system out of a 300 ZX turbo instead. The mass air sensor (I'm told) is less restrictive and more acurate than the AFM.. aswell, jim wolfe makes a 300 ZX ECU (future upgrade) I hear you guys talking about 11's... what are your vehicle weights? I am probly in the 28-3000 lbs neibourhood. anyway.. I know I've asked a whole WACK of questions........Thanks in advance for all your time guys
Sean 83ZXT
How the heck did you do that?? stock I pulled a best of 15.7 I have a BOV, and I'm only running a custom DP for exhaust, and a boost controller at stock PSI my new best is 15.1 and I have a 5 spd
Guest Anonymous
I was able to do that because the auto's are quicker in the 1/4 mile than the 5spds. I can build boost before I even start (by doing a break stand) and Every time a standard shifter takes his foot of the gas he looses boost. randy 77zt
you could get a blow-off valve to keep turbine speed up on stick shift.if i was drag race i would get a 3.9 diff from zx na and run auto trans.best bet is to put zx motor into a 70-72 z and loose lots of weight.
